The link already on file works without the bot
Checked against Discord first. Almost always still good, and re-checked rather than trusted.

Your server's own vanity URL
If your server is boosted enough to have discord.gg/yourname, that is used - it is permanent and cannot be revoked by deleting an invite.

A brand new permanent invite
The bot makes one that never expires and has no use limit.

An existing permanent invite
If the bot cannot create one, it looks for a permanent invite somebody else already made.

Any working invite in the server
A temporary invite is worse than a permanent one and far better than a dead link.

Your server widget works without the bot
The last resort, and the only one that still works after the bot has been removed - the widget endpoint is public, so it can be read from outside your server.
What still works if the bot is removed
Most invite tools can do nothing at all once you kick their bot. Two of our 6 routes need no bot in your server, because they read something Discord already publishes.
If all 6 fail
Sometimes there is genuinely nothing to point at - the bot was removed, the widget is off, and no invite exists. We do not pretend otherwise, and we do not quietly leave a dead link in the directory.
- You get told what broke, by DM and on your dashboard, with the specific reason and the specific fix - not a generic "check your permissions".
- Your listing is paused, not deleted. Your vanity code, description, tags, reviews and stats all stay exactly as they were. Visitors stop being sent to a dead link.
- It republishes itself the moment a working invite exists again - whether you add the bot back, fix a permission, or paste your own invite. Nothing to remember, and a listing you hid on purpose stays hidden.
