We're excited to announce a major upgrade to uCord: Automatic Invite Link Repair. This powerful new feature ensures your Discord server's invite links always work, even when the original invite expires or becomes invalid.
The Problem: Broken Invite Links
Have you ever experienced these frustrating situations?
- Expired Invites: Your Discord invite expires and users see "Invalid Invite" errors
- Deleted Invites: Someone accidentally deletes the invite link your vanity URL points to
- Permission Changes: Bot permissions change, preventing invite creation
- Lost Members: Potential members can't join because the link is broken
These issues can cost you dozens or even hundreds of potential members. Until now, fixing broken invites required manual intervention - you had to notice the problem, create a new invite, and update your vanity link.
Not anymore.
The Solution: Intelligent Auto-Repair
uCord now automatically validates and repairs invite links when users click them. Our system works behind the scenes to ensure every click leads to a working invite, with zero effort from you.
How It Works
When someone clicks your vanity link (like ucord.cc/yourserver), our system follows a 5-step intelligent process:
Step 1: Check Cached Validation
First, we check if we've recently validated your invite (within the last 5 minutes by default). If it was valid recently, we use that result for an instant redirect - no API calls, no delays.
Step 2: Validate Current Invite
If the cache has expired, we validate your current invite code with Discord's API. If it's still valid, great! We update the cache and redirect the user immediately.
Step 3: Create New Permanent Invite
If your invite is invalid, we automatically create a brand new permanent invite (unlimited uses, never expires) and update your vanity link to use it. The user gets redirected to the new invite seamlessly.
Step 4: Find Existing Permanent Invite
If we can't create a new invite (perhaps due to temporary permission issues), we search for any existing permanent invites in your server and use one of those instead.
Step 5: Use Any Available Invite
As a last resort, we'll use ANY invite we can find - even temporary or limited-use invites. Something is better than nothing!
Step 6: Owner Notification
If all automated steps fail (for example, if the bot isn't in your server or lacks permissions), we automatically send you a DM explaining the issue and how to fix it. If your DMs are closed, we'll message your server admins instead.
