- **MCP with an API key** — clients that never start OAuth (Cursor, for one) send an API key made on their uCord dashboard on the same URL as `Authorization: Bearer <key>` or `X-API-Key: <key>` (the same two headers the REST API takes); it unlocks the sign-in tools according to its scope (read-only, or read-write). In Cursor: `"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <key>" }` in the server's mcp.json entry.
- **MCP** — `POST https://ucord.cc/mcp` (JSON-RPC 2.0), one URL for everyone. Searching, browsing, similar servers, ad prices and reporting a problem need no credentials; reviews, stats and owner tools need a uCord sign-in, and calling one without it answers HTTP 401 with the OAuth challenge (`resource_metadata` at `https://ucord.cc/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource`), which starts the client's sign-in. The intended route for agents.

- **Search** across names, descriptions and tags — `search_servers` over MCP, or `/api/v1/servers/search`.
- **10 categories** grouping the tags listings are filed under, browsable at `https://ucord.cc/category/<name>`. 9 currently contain listings.
- **131 tags**, each with its own page at `https://ucord.cc/tag/<slug>`. 75 currently have listings. Tags are the primary filter axis — more precise than categories.
- **Reviews and ratings** left by uCord users, where a listing has any. Most do not.
- **Similar-server discovery** — given one listing, find neighbours by tag and ranking.
